The corner spot we always wished the neighborhood had.
Hazel’s opened in 2017 in a hundred-year-old grocery building on Hopkins Street, named for the pecan tree out back that predates all of us. We cook the food we like to eat — seasonal plates built around Hill Country farms, bread we bake ourselves, and a wine list that leans small, natural, and easy to love.
No dress code, no two-hour tasting menus, no rush for the table. Most of our regulars started as walk-ins, and most of our staff have been here since the paint was wet. Come hungry, sit on the patio, stay for one more glass.
“Half our menu comes from farms within an hour’s drive — the other half comes from arguments in the kitchen.”
